Sloan & Co. was a storied New York jewelry house, active from the late 1880s through the mid-20th century, known for whimsical, exquisitely detailed charms — mousetraps, cash registers, carousels — and trusted enough to supply designs to the likes of Cartier and Tiffany. This charm, a genuinely functional whistle in miniature, the kind of piece the firm was known for. Fully hallmarked and in very good functioning condition, it still does exactly what it was built to do, charming little detail and all.
